Make It A CENSational Christmas

Everyone is busy at this time of year, but if you can spare some time to help a good cause, then we have a bit of inspiration for you. Here are our 10 festive fundraising ideas to get you started.

1. Festive Fancy Dress

Whether you suit a pair of antlers, a Father Christmas beard or just a festive woolly jumper, get your office or classmates to dress up for the day. Everyone donates and the best fancy dress wins a prize.

2. Wrap It Up

Who doesn’t hate that moment when you have to dig out the Sellotape and last year’s salvaged ribbons to start the tedious task of wrapping gifts? Set up a workstation and offer a wrapping service for others. Charge a small fee per present and watch the funds build up.

3. Get Creative

Partial to a spot of baking, or handy with a paintbrush? Why not make it a creative Christmas?  Mince pies, Xmas sweets, decorations, wreaths, baubles – wrapped in pretty bags and tied with ribbons, these all make great gifts. So get entrepreneurial, put aside an afternoon and see what you can come up with.

4. Give an e-card

Admit it! We all hate writing Christmas cards, and it’s not good for the planet! Think of all those trees! This year, instead of writing cards, you can send a charity e-card. It’s simple – just select your charity, make a donation and email or message your list of contacts, telling them you’ve donated to charity. We have our own CENS charity cards which you can access here

5. Secret Santa

Rather than choosing a gift for a tenner, drop it to a fiver and donate the other £5 to your chosen charity. Everyone will have the joy of giving 2 gifts.

6. Your Starter For 10

Get competitive with a Christmas themed quiz night. Either with work colleagues or with friends and family, you can charge an entry fee and still have enough for a prize and a donation.

7. Get Festive Fit

Set yourselves and your friends a fitness challenge. It could be a cold sea dash in nothing but a swimsuit and a reindeer hat, or a Full-on Santa run. Whatever you decide, you’ll be having fun, keeping active and raising money for a good cause.

8. Pull Out The Popcorn

There’s nothing better to get you in the Christmas mood, than sticking on your favourite movie and settling down under a blanket with a bowl of popcorn and a great film. Maybe you’re an Elf person, or perhaps Home Alone… or maybe a classic like It’s A Wonderful Life. But don’t do it alone – pull together your friends and put on a Xmas movie night extravaganza. For a small donation, you can provide some snacks and drinks and hit play.

9. Deck Your Desk

Tired of staring at your computer screen all day and looking at that coffee cup ring? Pimp up your desk festive-style with a touch of tinsel, a few baubles or maybe a full-blown tree adorned with fairy lights. Everyone taking part can make a donation and you can award a prize for the winner.

10. Give As You Live

It’s as simple as that! As you shop, money is donated to charity at no additional cost to you. Shop at Amazon, M&S, eBay, John Lewis, Tesco amongst many others. If you select CENS as your chosen charity, the money will be winging its way to us. Follow the link to Give As You Live here.
