Colchester homeless shelter Celebrates success with our annual AGM, some amazing harvest donations, and most importantly some amazing move-on stories!
Celebrating Success at our Annual AGM
CENS was overjoyed to welcome those who trudged through the (truly torrential!) for the annual AGM. (Including one famous face). We were particularly pleased to showcase our positive move on stats which were at 63% – the highest ever. That’s 64 people who took new steps into a brighter future!
And check out our favourite page from the report, amazing thank you messages from residents. (You can see the rest of the report here)
Musaab’s story is a particularly touching one. He was a British Citizen living in Sudan when the war broke out there. Evacuated by the British government, he was brought to Colchester with no help available once here. CENS worked closely with the fantastic refugee charity RAMA to help Musaab. He’s now permanently housed and is offering his skills to help others.

It’s that time again, we’ve been lucky to receive wonderful harvest donations. Just in time too before all the cornflakes ran out! Special thanks to Holmwood House School, St Mary’s Church Wivenhoe, Kingswode Hoe School, and many others!
We love it when residents want to help out in the kitchen. And not just because it’s one less thing for staff to do! There’s nothing better than some teamwork to enhance the sense of community we have at CENS, so when residents get stuck in and help out it can be a rewarding experience for everyone. We sometimes have residents who are skilled chefs and they make beautiful meals to share. Check out this amazing Sunday Roast made by superstar chef Paul!
A Great Night Out For a Good Cause
