There are many ways businesses can engage in Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR. By practicing CSR, companies are demonstrating that they are conscious of their impact on society – economic, environmental and social.
Most large corporations now practice CSR incredibly effectively, having realised the huge benefits associated with it, but smaller businesses can achieve the same success by practicing it at a more local level.
CSR can take many forms, including philanthropy and volunteering, and has big benefits for business. We all now live in a socially responsible age and increasingly, employees, customers and society place a higher value on companies which demonstrate CSR.
But what are the benefits for business? Here are our top 5:
- Boost sales and increase profits
90% – the number of consumers surveyed who would purchase a product because a company supported an issue they believed in. It’s a great way to connect with your consumers.
2. Attract socially aware employees
Employees are increasingly choosing to work within an environment which holds social and environmental values in the same esteem as financial values.
3. Build positive brand awareness
Showing that you are committed to a cause within your community will have a positive effect on your business reputation.
4. Positively impact your local community
Choosing a smaller, local charity to partner with is mutually beneficial. Not only are you working to improve your own neighbourhood, but any involvement your company has with a relatively small charity will have a major positive impact on them and your employees can get directly involved.
5. Generate positive publicity
Any publicity from your links to a local charity will support your positive brand messages at a more local level, within your target marketplace.
WHY CHOOSE CENS AS YOUR CSR PARTNER?
We are currently looking for local businesses to partner with us as our sponsors for 2022. CENS has been operating in Colchester to help the homeless move away from the danger of living on the streets, and into permanent, safe housing for almost 30 years. We are well known and highly regarded within the local community and have excellent connections with many other charities, organisations and businesses.
This is a key point in our development and is a great opportunity for local businesses to get involved and become part of our success. We are keen to build new corporate partnerships and to offer the opportunity to achieve CSR goals by linking up with CENS. We can work with you to put an annual package of events together, utilising your skills and knowledge and our connections with the community to make it relevant and beneficial to both parties. This can include regular donations, volunteering at the shelter, training residents, fundraising activities, or offering much-needed products and services.
In return, all our Corporate Partners will have a presence on our website as well as ongoing marketing opportunities on our social media platforms, our newsletters, press coverage and at events. Our aim is to work closely with businesses to create a bespoke packages, in order to make the relationship mutually beneficial, organic and long-lasting.
