The Colchester branch of the Co-Operative Bank has chosen CENS to be one of it’s chosen charities this years. Here Michelle Massetti explains how and why they are behind the work we do.
“We chose to support CENS in the Colchester branch because, one morning we found a homeless man sleeping on the steps outside the branch. He was cold, hungry and had no-where to go and nobody would help him. We managed to rustle up a hot drink and some food between us.”
“Recently, we have raised £280 for the charity by doing a bake sale. We sold homemade sausage rolls, cookies and shortbread and made up little sweet bags.”
“We invited Marina Woodrow the manager at CENS to come and speak with our customers. It was very interesting to hear what she had to say. I must say our customers have been very supportive, especially as some of them mentioned they had to used the charity in the past.”
“We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who donated to this worthy cause and have made us aware that there are people out there are a lot worse off than ourselves.”
