Today is Blue Monday – supposedly the bleakest day of the year. But did you know the day was invented as a marketing stunt for travel companies to sell holidays in January!
If you aren’t lucky enough to be jetting off anytime soon, we thought we’d cheer you up with these positive quotes from our residents. All taken from our Exit Forms that are designed to help improve our service and give residents a chance to let us know how their stay has impacted their lives.
“We are spoiled here at CENS! I don’t think people realise how good the facilities are and how much support we all get while being here. Thank you to all the staff” Aparna
“Amazing staff. I will miss everyone. I spent Christmas here and it was the best one I’ve had in at least five years.” Dale
“It all felt a bit surreal at first. I never thought I’d end up homeless. But, I had an amazing time at CENS, everything was spot on. The food options were great – I tried things I’d not had before.” Samuel
“The facilities far exceeded my thoughts about the shelter before I arrived. Everything you’d want is here. I had outstanding help and advice from staff.” Ian
“The staff at the shelter have gone above and beyond to help me get to where I am now. CENS signposted me to Beacon House who have also helped me a lot” Kathleen
“I would recommend CENS to other people. I don’t want to leave – staff have been brilliant.” Michael
“I never thought I’d make friends at the shelter. I think it’s because we’re all in the same situation there’s a bond. Being in the communal areas made me feel less lonely. The special effort by the 3 Paras and Fat Cat pub over Christmas are something I won’t forget.” Alan
“I had good and bad days, but staff were always on-hand to help pick me up when I was down. I’ll never forget my experiences here.” Paul
